Alright all you Mercenaries wanna-be's with six digit numbers and Handcannon running through your head, time to get whipped into Mercenaries shape.
Characters:
Leon-Leon Kennedy, the main protagonist used through the game comes equipped with not much compared to his Merc's competion. He has a Riot Gun, Blacktail, 10 Shotgun Shells, 30 Handgun Bullets, and a First Aid Spray(FAS). His Blacktail is a great overall weapon, easily taking out up to 3 Ganados at a time. Anymore than that and whip out the Riot Gun. Leon comes without much weaponry so the key to using him effectively is using his surrounding to his advantage. If you see a red barrel, note it's location and shoot it when enemies bunch up near it. Try to have at least a 5 shells in the Riot Gun at all times, in case a Mini-Boss sneaks up on you.
Ada-Ada Wong, an old time friend of Leon comes with some nice weapons. She shows up with a Punisher, TMP(w/o stock), Semi-Auto Rifle(SAR)(w/Scope), 30 Handgun Bullets, 100 TMP Rounds, 5 Rifle Rounds, 3 Incendary Grenades, and a FAS. Ada is the fastest of all Mercs but also has the least amount of health. She's got no knife, unlike Leon and Krauser, but it's not like she needs one. Use her TMP to set up her A prompts, which are decent. Her Incendaries are good for when you get surrounded. Punisher for shielded foes. Try to save your Rifle Rounds for Mini-Bosses. If you find any Hand Grenades, save them for the same reason.
Krauser-Jack Krauser is one tough cookie. He carries around his Bow, sans the explosive tip. 4 Flash Grenade's are a great addition to his over powered Bow. He also comes with 30 Arrows for it. And of course, a FAS. His knife should be included also. His Kick prompts are great, they always bust heads. Which is why 4 Flash Grenades is awesome. His knife can be used too if only one or two Ganado's are closing in, slash and kick. Usually 1 or 2 Arrows will kill a Ganado. His greatest asset though is how he can use his mutated arm to OHKO enemies, even Mini-Bosses. If you can get other enemies in front of the Mini-Boss, it has a large range. This is the reason why Krauser, in my opinion is the second best Mercs character.
HUNK-HUNK aka Mr. Death is a fun unit to use, with a cool name, I resently discovered what HUNK stood for:Human Unit Not Killed. Either way, he comes with a Custom TMP(Tactical Machine Pistol), which has a pre-equiped stock. It has a 100 Round capacity, along with another 75 TMP Rounds. He also has 3 Hand Grenades, and a FAS. His prompts are awesome, on their knees he kicks them hard in the gut. If he shoots their face he kills them instantly with a Neck Breaker. TMP isn't so effective on Mini-Bosses, so save the Hand Grenades. Except one the village HUNK can perform a Neck Breaker on the Bella Sisters.
Wesker-Albert Wesker, ex-leader of STARS and military unit extrodinair. He is by far the best Merc. He is armed with a fully upgraded Handgun(standard) equipped with a Silencer which is good for the Castle level, the Mini-Bosses is a Garrador, who attack by sound. He also has a SAR (w/o Scope). To finish off his godly arsenal he has a Killer7 magnum. Downside, no ammo for any of his guns, just what's in the clip. What? Another upside? He comes equipped with 4 Hand Grenads, 3 Flash Grenades, and 1 Incendary Grenade. Use the Handgun to set up his killer prompts, like Thrust Punch, which is a OHKO. After getting some SAR/Killer7 it should be okay to drop the Handgun. Don't be afraid to waste some Killer7 ammo to keep the kill count up. Grenades are great if enemies bunch up too, keep the combo up!
Places:
Pueblo-The main part of the village where you get the Shotgun, although you can't pick it up here. Some places to note are near the passage leading to the church there is a one ended barn with a red barrel. Across from it is a room with a window, a metal door, and a Bonus Time. There's another one ended barn near the entrance to the village with a Bonus Time and a red barrel in it. Across from it is a large barn with half of a second floor. There is a red barrel and a 30 Second Time Multiplier. Use your imagination. Gather guys inside, climb the ladder, knock it down, grab the Time Multiplier and shoot the barrel, clean up for major points.
Castle-There's a bunch of Time Bonuses here. Grabe them all. It's layout is almost identical to the second room in the castle, sans the catapults. The only noteworthy part is at the very top, where you can't go any further, there's an extra room. It has a few FAS, a Time Bonus, and a two Garradors that come out one at a time.
Military Base-Pretty basic. A huge sprawling level design. Two JJ as Mini-Bosses. Watch out for their Miniguns, they're strong, try to take them out at a distance.
Waterworld-Hardly a summer getaway, this is one harsh level. It's large and has two Chainsaw wielding Ganados, the Mini-Bosses, Mr. Salvador. Be careful because they don't climb ladder, they jump all the way up and down. They are VERY hard to knock down. Several Shotguns to take down, or a Hand Grenade. If you can, use a SAR to kill him before he gets close. Be careful running away if you choose to retreat, his movement up close are erractic. But running away wastes point, try to kill him if you can.
Hints and Tips:
-Use promts, they're powerful and save ammo.
-If you need the space, don't be afraid to drop weapons or some ammo, it's pretty easy to get.
-Don't use Leon or Krauser's knife to open boxes, just shoot them, it's quicker, in fact, don't use Leon's knife at all.
-Don't run away, keep pressing forward, a retreating second is a wasted one.
-Try to keep the combo up, don't slow down until you hit the mid 30's at least.
-KEEP THE KILL COUNT UP
